On April 10th, 2021, PILOXING Senior Master Trainer Rasidah Caudal gathered her local PILOXING instructor community to bring various grocery items and goods to 100+ Seniors in Singapore. These elders are not only living under financial hardship, but many of them live alone with little or no support from their families.
PILOXING class participants and friends donated items such as rice, oil, canned food, biscuits, coffee, tea, masks, hand sanitizers and toiletries, then delivered them to the recipients.
We could not be more proud of our Singapore Piloxing community for being rainbows to so many Singaporeans in need. 🌈💕
Do you want to be a rainbow in someone else's life? Below are Rasidah's few simple steps. Be inspired and see how YOU too can organize your own PILOXING GIVES event, and join in on our PILOXING GIVES Month!
- Identify the recipients of your event: who and where in your local community can you support?
- Who is your team? Rasidah is a PILOXING Master Trainer and she connected with her local PILOXING instructors to organize her event. If you are an instructor, you could team up with other local PILOXING instructors, instructor colleagues at your gym, or maybe it is just you and your PILOXING class participants!
- What are you collecting / donating? Rasidah and the team decided to collect grocery items to donate, knowing that was needed and would greatly support their local community. Maybe your recipients are in need of something else? Or maybe you are simple raising money for a local charity! The options are endless!
- Who are you asking for donations? For this event, Rasidah and local instructors were promoting their event to their PILOXING class participants, volunteers and friends, asking them to donate the items in need! Get your local community involved - maybe it is a member of the gym you teach at?
- What were the steps to make this event happen?
- A poster was made showing the food items needed, including details such as the price of the items.
- The poster was shared with class participants, family and friends.
- Rasidah and the team began individually collecting all donations.
- Everyone gathered together on a day to organize donations, then assemble the bags to be distributed.
- Lastly, a day was chosen to deliver the bags. The team divided into groups and went around to deliver the bags of groceries to the community in need!
