Eating a rainbow of fruits and vegetables is a big part of making your Piloxing body sleek, sexy and powerful. The best diet includes fruits of vegetables of all colors.
EAT RED produce, such as tomatoes, watermelon, pomegranates, cherries, papaya and pink grapefruit, for instance, because it contains lycopene, an antioxidant that helps fight heart disease and some cancers, including prostate cancer.
EAT ORANGE AND YELLOW sweet potatoes, carrots, mangoes, apricots, peaches, pears, oranges and yellow peppers, etc. Orange and yellow produce contains beta-carotene, which helps eyesight and collagen.
Orange fruits and vegetables, in particular, have high amounts of vitamin C and folate, which help guard the heart and prevent some birth defects.
EAT GREEN vegetables because they are full of vitamins that boost your immune and your digestive systems. Spinach, collard greens, and other green vegetables contain antioxidants that protect your eyes from the effects of aging.
Cruciferous vegetables are found in many colors, including green (e.g., Brussels sprouts and kale); they contain antioxidants and phytonutrients that reduce the risk of cancer.
And, don’t forget, there are also green fruits — grapes, kiwi and green apples, for example.
EAT BLUE AND PURPLE grapes, plums, eggplants, red cabbage, blueberries, purple grapes, beets and plums, etc., to protect your heart and guard against cancer. These fruits and vegetables are filled with antioxidants that push back against aging and disease.
EAT WHITE foods too, such as garlic, onions, turnips, cauliflower, mushrooms, and potatoes. Yes, potatoes. Eat boiled potatoes, bake potatoes, roasted potatoes. Not fried potatoes. Not potatoes smothered in butter and full-fat sour cream. Not potatoes au gratin. Just potatoes.
Back to the more general “white stuff” category …
White foods have sulphur-containing compounds that help balance hormone levels. (And that is definitely sexy.)
When you get home from shopping, fan your food out in a color wheel. If your fruits and vegetables for the week cover the rainbow, you’re on the right track!
